On Saturday July 12, Oxford Dragway, its racers, and fans remembered one of our fellow racers past. The 4th Annual Pete Labonte Memorial Race, presented by Goodwin's Motor Group, allowed everyone involved to reflect on Pete as a friend, family man, and fierce competitor. Pete's contributions to drag racing are immeasurable. A mainstay in this sport since the early days, his love of the sport lives on in all of us. With participation from Pete's family, Downeast Street Rod members, Oxford Racers, and Pete's coupe (courtesy of Jim and Kathleen Clemons), a much deserved tribute pass was made by all, remembering Pete, his contributions, and the many ways that he touched many during his time with us. Godspeed Pete...You remain in our thoughts forever. |
